I have started tatting with buttons, and have quite a few to show you. I used HDT which I got from http://www.etsy.com/shop/yarnplayer . Made using size 40 thread. The pattern is from "Tatting with Buttons" by Karey Solomon. I turned this one into a necklace, and got a lot of compliments on it.

The deleted comment was mine as I had signed in incorrectly! I'm glad we can see these photos. Both motifs are lovely (heart and star), and the star looks excellent as a pendant!
